sunday afternoon

sometimes when it is sunday afternoon and the weather is perfect, and everyone has had a sunday nap you just have to get out of the house. today we took the girls bikes to a parking lot behind brooklynn's school so the girls could ride their bikes freely. since we live in a townhouse there isn't really anywhere great for them to ride their bikes so we usually find a good empty parking lot for them to do it. this one is especially great because there is a park right there. brooklynn had a good time playing queen and she let quinn be her guard and made her do things for her. surprisingly quinn loved it. i love spending quality time with this little family of mine. they are pretty great!

time to take action

okay guys, i swear i have said a million times that i was going to start blogging regularly and then i get distracted and i don't do it. or i think to myself, i'll blog more when i finally can get that camera lens the ti really want. but i've been doing this challenge that has made me realize that now is the time to do what i want. why wait? it's time to take the bull by the horns and just do what i want to do. and blogging and taking photos is what i want to do. so that is what i am going to do.

also, this girl is officially going to apart of our family! my brother in law josh asked laura to marry him a few weeks ago and we are beyond excited about it!

picnic at the park

so sometimes when we are bored on saturday evenings we decide to take a picnic to the park. and not just any picnic... a super awesome delicious mcdonals picnic. kidding. mcdonalds is never delicious. but thats exactly what we did. because once a kid has a happy meal they will forever and always ask for happy meals. it's just not possible for a kid to have one and then never ask again. my kids ask me for a happy meal almost daily since we drive through mcdonalds daily for a diet coke... you know... cause i'm addicted.. don't worry though, i rarely ever get them one.. cause being addicted to fast food is gross... ;) but anyway back to our picnic... besides the fact that the food we were eating was nasty and quinn decided to blow chocolate milk bubbles all over her shirt we had a great time. the weather has been so warm lately that its been nice spending time outside. plus the kids love the park so thats always a good time. also, the sky was so pretty tonight.. i have a weird love for a pretty sky, they make me so happy.. any who, naturally now you get to look at a bunch of photos that i took at the park tonight.. enjoy!

alone time with my quinn

having two kids has been everything i've ever dreamed of. i absolutely love having two girls and they are just the light of my life. but it is nice when i get to spend time with each of them one on one. with brooklynn being in preschool quinn and i get one on one time 3 times a week. most of the time we just run errands or hang out at home while we wait for brooklynn to get home from school but every once in a while i like to take her to do something fun just the two of us. i think she really enjoys having all of my attention for a little bit. 

today she and i headed to the houston zoo for some fun. we just got a pass there so we will be going way more often. we had a blast. we also ran into a friend there which always makes for a good time! i love how excited quinn gets about everything. every little animal she was so excited to see.. even the snakes! yuck. she would say, "ohhh look at that snake, it's soooo coool"! she cracks me up all of the time! 

we had a great time today but we were also very excited to pick brooklynn up from school! i can't even explain how much i love my girls! i am the luckiest mom is all the world!

happy sunday

happy sunday, everyone! i hope everyone had a super great sunday! 

so one of my favorite things to do with my girls is dress them alike. i don't actually do it that often but i love it when i do. so my mom is crazy talented and she is always making things for the girls. she and my grandma made these super cute outfits. they made the coats and the skirts. i mean, how cute are they? i've always wanted to be good at this kind of stuff and i am just not. i am trying however to be more creative. i will get there eventually. but for now i have my mom to do this awesome stuff for me! so thanks mimi and gigi for these cute outfits! we love them so much!

library days // story time

at least once a week we head over to our local library to check out books and go to story time. the girls absolutely love it. i have to admit i love it too! we always get to the library about 30 minutes before story time and the girls get to walk around the library and find books they want to check out that week. it's fun to see them look around at all the different books and figure out which ones they want and which ones they aren't interested in. 

then we head into story time where they sing songs, listen to a few stories, and color a little. it is definitely one of the highlights of our week. i'm grateful for these fun things we can do that are free and the kids love. here are a few photos from our time at the library this week!
