i love being an aunt!

so i absolutely love being an aunt! and i mean, nothing beats being a mom but i really love being an aunt! my sister janice had all four of her boys before i ever had a child and so those boys hold a very special place in my heart because they were legit the first babies i ever had any experience with and i just love them so much! (don't get me wrong i love ALL of my nieces a nephews! i have the best ones ever!) so when my sister asked me if when she and her husband kris were going to europe and taking their two older boys if i would watch her two younger boys carson and hendrix i said heck yes! she flew them out here to stay with us for 5 days and we had an absolute blast!! seriously we had so much fun! we went to the movies a couple times, we hit up some bounce house places, curtis took them to this new dart gun place by our house, we went to the zoo, and a couple other fun places, we also had lots of ice cream and just hung out and i seriously mean it when i say i did not want them to go back home! my girls had a blast having them here and we are all so sad that they are gone now! i guess we just need to take a trip out to california very soon!

time to take action

okay guys, i swear i have said a million times that i was going to start blogging regularly and then i get distracted and i don't do it. or i think to myself, i'll blog more when i finally can get that camera lens the ti really want. but i've been doing this challenge that has made me realize that now is the time to do what i want. why wait? it's time to take the bull by the horns and just do what i want to do. and blogging and taking photos is what i want to do. so that is what i am going to do.

also, this girl is officially going to apart of our family! my brother in law josh asked laura to marry him a few weeks ago and we are beyond excited about it!

a very great saturday

this past saturday was one for the books. with curtis' new job we don't see much of him during the week so the weekends are much more special and we try to get out and do something fun. this weekend some of my brother in law's girlfriend's family were in town and so we spent a lot of the day with them and it was fantastic. we started the day off at this awesome dinosaur park that is only about 40 minutes away from us. they had a path that you walk through and they have huge dinosaurs to see. it was pretty awesome and the kids loved it even though quinn still wasn't feeling 100%. after we walked the path they kids loved digging in the sand looking for bones and playing on the playground.

after the dinosaur park we headed over to josh and laura's new house to grill and hang out. the kids played with bubbles and other games while we all just talked and got to know each other. we even saw a little tiny baby bird in a nest. it was so cute!! we absolutely love being close to josh and laura and we are so happy we get to see them so often! 

after that we went home and quinn decided she wanted to take a nap so i took brooklynn to the pool and we swam for a few hours and played at the park. it was a fun family filled day and i loved every minute of it! summer is here and we are ready for fun!

fall

i love the fall in utah. it really can't be beat. today after brunch at cracker barrel we headed over to one of our favorite parks in salt lake city and played in the leaves and at the park. it was a beautiful day and i enjoyed spending it with my little family. i of course forgot our good camera but i snapped a few shots of the girls with my phone because it was seriously so beautiful at the park. i think my favorite it of brooklynn and quinn. i so badly wanted to get a cute photo of them together and quinn was just not having it. but that girl is just still so cute when she cries. it was a great day.
